Jake Delhomme QB- PANTHERS: Just so we get this clear...he SUCKS...but if you're in a bind , you could do worse then ol' Jake, who's playing the Bucs this week. He should be started in deeper leagues/2 qb leagues only!!
David Garrard QB- JAGUARS:Boy , did he miss Sims-Walker last week or what? I think he will have a good game against the dreadful Rams.
Randy Moss WR- PATRIOTS: He should be able to pick apart the depleted Titans secondary, so I think him and Wes Welker should be good starts this week.
Greg Jennings WR-PACKERS: The Packers are fresh off the bye, and get the worst pass defense (for TD's allowed), which should mean good numbers for Jennings and Donald Driver, and if you need some tight end help, Jermichael Finley should also have a very solid game.
Steve Smith WR-CAROLINA: The "original" Steve Smith should have a huge day against the Bucs secondary , who are giving up over 2 passing scores a week.
T.J Houshmandzadeh/Nate Burleson WR - SEAHAWKS: I could see both of them having repeat performances like last week...2 TD'S each.
Mike Sims-Walker WR- JAGUARS: He's Garrard's go to guy , and they play the Rams...you make the math.
Jeremy Maclin WR - EAGLES: With Nnamdi Asomugha covering DeSean Jackson, I could see Maclin having another big day against the Raiders. Kevin Curtis is likely out another week, so he should have plenty of targets to keep his owners happy.
Knowshon Moreno RB- BRONCOS:He continues to "KnowSHINE" with each passing week, and this week should be no different...He will shred the Chargers.
Sammy Morris RB- PATRIOTS: Taylor is out for atleast the next 3 weeks, so Morris should continue to see the most carries.
DeAngelo Williams RB- PANTHERS: No longer a "must start", but I think he breaks out of his slump this week against the 5th worst rush defense .
Rashard Mendenhall RB- STEELERS : This is presuming Willie Parker doesn't play this week...and you better hope he doesn't, becuase the Browns are last in rush defense.
Have a start 'em sit 'em question? feel free to comment below, or email me and I'll be glad to answer
DELHOME , HUH? you have no idea, its so sad i have to start him this week with both peyton and romo on bye weeks
ReplyDeletei have cutler and ryan, which one should i start, im leaning toward ryan with the game being in atlanta
ReplyDeleteI would go with Ryan too...He has a ton of weapons, while cutler has some average wr's and te's.Matchup wise, Cutler has the edge, but I still think Ryan has another very solid game.
ReplyDeleteI saw your blogspot the other day and thought it was pretty cool. Since no one will answer me on yahoo, I remembered you and thought I try and hit you directly!
ReplyDeleteI was offered rb Bush & te Celek for MJD & wr Muhammad.
Im not about to accept that but was hoping there might be something I could counteroffer with.
Me: rb MJD, Sproles, Coffee, Gore - wr Holmes, Muhammad, Collie, Garcon - te Carson, Cooley
Him: rb Grant, Rice, Bush, Johnson Larry, - wr Fitz, Johnson A, Crabtree - te Celek, Heap, Davis V.
Any thoughts on something worth countering with? MJD should kill Rams this week, then a bye and Tennesse in 8. but he was suppose to kill in his past weeks too. Thats worked out greatttt. Coffees on his way to the bench and Muhammad? HA! I need a change. My current roster wont fly. OH if it helps...my QBs are Romo & E. Manning and D Bill & Cards. ack!! Thanks :)
Maybe you should try to trade one of your qb's , basically, your team is like this:
ReplyDeleteqb-Romo/Manning
wr-Holmes/Collie/Garcon
rb- MJD/Gore
te- Cooley
I also had a similar team this year ( with MJD) and traded him for Ryan Grant , Ray Rice and Donald Driver. Your team is lacking in WR and Defense, so I think you should trade for those.
Whatever you do though, DON'T trade for either Reggie Bush or Larry Johnson. Maybe try to counteroffer MJD and Muhammad for Grant and Andre Johnson...
Grant has been steadily improving, and will get a boost with the return of LT Chad Clifton (without whom the Packers O-line has been atrocious), and Andre Johnson is a monster!!
also , I like him because he has a good schedule ahead of him, especially in the fantasy playoff weeks (Jacksonville , Seattle , St Louis and Miami)along with games against the Titans and Bills...
If he needs a qb, maybe offer him Romo , MJD and Muhammad for Grant, Rice and Johnson.
Ok, Mendenhall didnt practice yeasterday with an illness but parker has been going solid for two days now. Do u think he is still worth starting? And if not, who should i get?
ReplyDeleteMy running backs suck should i start Lynch or L Washington,
ReplyDeleteThe bigger worry is Parker practicing...
ReplyDeleteThe question now is how will the carries be split. While i wouldn't drop Mendenhall, I would look at who's available on the fa/waiver wire, because Mendenhall has too many question marks at this point.
With that said, if he does play, he could have a great game against the team with the WORST RUN DEFENSE in the league...so I could see both of them having a good day. What i recommend is that you monitor his situation and see if he practices, becuase if he does play, the game may be over by halftime, so the Steelers may give him more carries in the second half and rest Parker .
I like Lynch more, but not the matchup...so I'll go with Washington who I think has more upside in this matchup. Even though he has to share the backfield with Thomas Jones and Shonn Greene, I think there will be enough touches to warrant a start over Lynch.
ReplyDeleteahhh thank you! I love a fresh set of eyes looking at things. I could goto my friends for advice, but they are all in this league and everyone is tight lipped. I do believe he does need a QB. Hes got Cutler and Hill. We have a min/max of 2 qbs. Ive got no problem dumping Romo, but Id have to replace him. And not with Hill! Right now, the best qb free agent in my league is Campbell. I doubt he would be willing to trade Cutler as well. Id be too heavy on my side of the trade. I couldnt afford to give up what little good team I have left.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...didn't know it was a 2qb league. I definitely wouldn't replace Romo with Campbell. Your team isn't bad, so maybe try to make a small trade for a more dependable wr, like a Donald Driver type guy. If I was in your situation, I would do "addition by subtraction" by trading MJD for a good rb and a great wr...so in your case id do Andre Johnson and Ryan Grant for MJD.
ReplyDeleteYour team would look like this then:
QB-MANNING
QB-ROMO
WR-JOHNSON
WR-HOLMES
WR-GARCON
RB-GRANT
RB-GORE
TE-CARLSON/COOLEY
D/ CARDINALS
I think this is a more balanced team now if you were to do such a trade.
Also, another "trick" when you have bad defenses is to play the matchup game...basically, you pick up a free agent defense most weeks who face teams like Oakland..St Louis...Detroit...Cleveland, becuase no matter how atrocious a defense may be, it will probably do better then a Giants against the Saints type matchup.
Hope this helps
dang u thorough with your explanations good job
ReplyDeleteWhich TE should I start John Carlson or Jermicheal Finley? I want to go with Carlson but he might be blocking a lot this week like last week, and Finley is getting more active in the packers offense
ReplyDeleteI have WR Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith NYG, and Vincent Jackson. Who should I start? My running backs are Clinton Portis, Sammie Morris, Ahmad Bradshaw, Ronnie Brown(bye) Tim Hightower. I am trying to trade for knownshon, or someone else. Who do I start at WR and RB?
ReplyDeleteWould I be better off Trading Anquan boldin to get Ryan Grant GB or would I be better of going for Knowshon Moreno?
ReplyDeleteThat is a tough one. Carlson has a good matchup (against a team thats LAST against the pass), but Finley also has a good matchup against Detroit (the team that allows the most passing TD's). I personally, am starting Finley this week becuase I think he's starting to become a big part of this offense, and I think he has a great game after he torched Minnesota for 128 yards and a score. I think he goes for 5/60 yards and a TD.
ReplyDeleteNoah...
ReplyDeleteFirstly, nice team.
I'd start :
WR-FITZGERALD
WR-BOLDIN
WR-JACKSON (this is a tough one, but I think I'd rather have Jackson, becuase Smith will be very hit-and-miss with Manningham,Nicks,Hixon,Bradshaw all in the passing equation)
RB-PORTIS ( not a big fan of his...but you pretty much have to start him with this matchup
RB-MORRIS (though I'm a bit cautious with him, as you never know what Belichick will do. Hightower has a decent matchup, but I think the Cards will pass a lot ( like they usually do against the Seahawks), so I think Morris is probably a safer choice .
(Hopefully you get Knowshon before Sunday, so you dont have this dilemma :) )
Thanks, I am hoping Brees will pull through for me this week and Get more than his last two week of 7 & 9. Who do you think I would be better off trading to try and get a wide out? Steve Smith? Boldin?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous...
ReplyDeleteI would rather have Moreno. Even though he's a rookie, and rookie's sometimes slow down towards the end of the season. The only reason I'd take Moreno over Grant is the schedule (from week 13 onwards, Grant faces Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Arizona week 17 {Arizona is #1 against the run], so I think he gets you TO the fantasy playoffs, but will dud up from week 13 onwards. Moreno's team will likely be playing for a division title, and will need to rely on him heavily, plus his schedule is pretty good:week 13 against the Chiefs, week 15 against Oakland and week 17 against the Chiefs again.
Noah...
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty much set at receiver with Fitzgerald, Boldin and V-jax, so I don't think you necessarily need a wideout. If I were you, Id upgrade on RB, as I don't think Portis will be good the rest of the way, and Morris only has a few weeks until Fred Taylor comes back.If I had to choose between who to trade, I'd say trade Smith for a better rb or whatever other position you need. Also have in mind that Arizona already had it's bye week, and should be MUCH better the rest of the way ( their schedule has them playing ST. Louis twice, Carolina, Seattle, Chicago, Tennessee, San Francisco and Detroit..all of which are "user friendly" pass defense's, and especially in week 15 and 16 when fantasy championships are decided, they face Detroit and St. Louis.
Thanks! I meant running back not wide out. I am going to try and get Benson I think for Smith. I guy in my league wants smith pretty bad and sits Benson every week. So you think Playing Fitz and Bolding together is fine everyweek?
ReplyDeleteNoah...
ReplyDeleteI think that Warner throws enough to warrant starting them both...
If they had a high caliber RB that would take away touches, then maybe I'd be apprehensive, but as we've seen, neither Hightower nor Beanie Wells have been anywhere near that. Also take into account that they will be facing defenses that are bad against the pass in the coming weeks. If you can get Benson for Smith, I'd do that. This team looks pretty good:
QB-BREES
WR-FITZGERALD
WR-BOLDIN
WR-VINCENT JACKSON
RB-RONNIE BROWN
RB-CEDRIC BENSON/KNOWSHON MORENO
That is a pretty stacked team, and you also have some insurance policies in Hightower, Portis and Bradshaw .
Hello! Just wanted to update you. Yesterday we were talking about the MJD/Muhammed offer for Bush/Celek. After looking @ schedules & #s I took your advice and counterd with AJohnson & RGrant. He rejected & countered back with Bush/Celek plus Vernon Davis! I dont know what this guys deal is. Should have known something was a little slow with him when a 4 weeks ago he offered me Heap & Rice for MJD & Sproles! Im done with dealing with him. Thanks for all your help!! I will be back! :)
ReplyDeleteMelizza...
ReplyDeleteYeah, he sounds pretty lame..why would you need BOTH Celek and Davis, plus a bust Rb for a stud Rb... it doesn't make sense. Every league usually
has that one person who always offers you Sidney Rice for Adrian Peterson type trades, and you should just ignore him and try to see who else you can trade with.
