ADD 'EM WEEK 8

[Note: I'll list players that are 50% or less owned in standard leagues]
6 more teams are on bye's this week, so here are some add's to get you through the week:

Mike Wallace WR- STEELERS:
He happens to be one of the players with a bye this week, but he's a good add for coming weeks. If you need a Wr down the road and have an extra roster space, he's a decent add. He's the Steelers #3 and Roethlisberger is starting to look for him more. He's a good wr3 in 12 team leagues or flex play.

Jake Delhomme QB- PANTHERS: He's not pretty...but if you're in a qb bind, then maybe roll out FAKE JAKE one more time. He's facing the Cardinals, who are very user friendly against the pass. He did have a somewhat decent game (for Delhomme standards) against the Bills, throwing for 325 yards with 3 INT's. He's always a risk, but he may be worth a "hail mary" this week with 6 teams on bye's.

Shonn Greene RB-JETS: Leon Washington is presumably out for the year, which makes Shonn Greene this weeks HOT ADD. He had 144 rushing yards with 2 TD's against Buffalo. He will get more exposure now that Washington is out, and is a must add if you need a rb.

Mohamed Massaqoui WR- BROWNS: He has alot of talent, but not a good QB. Against Green Bay, he was limited to 1 catch for 22 yards by All pro's Al Harris and Charles Woodson. The good thing I saw in that game though was that he was targeted twice when the Browns were in the redzone, including on 4th down so he's becoming a big part of this offense.

Mike Bell RB-SAINTS: If you desperately need a rb, he could be a good plug n' play this week.

Lance Moore WR- SAINTS: One of Brees's favorite targets, the now healthy WR should have good numbers in this pass first offense. I especially like him in weeks 9-11, when he will be facing Carolina, St Louis and Tampa Bay respectively.

Alex Smith QB- 49ERS: He's the newly anointed starter after leading a furious rally last week against Houston. He passed for 3 TD's and looked fantastic. He has some nice weapons to work with, and if you need a QB, I think he's worth a gamble.

Michael Crabtree WR- 49ERS: The rookie performed admirably in his first game, catching 5 catches for 56 yards. New QB Alex Smith has a stronger arm then the demoted Shaun Hill, further adding to Crabtree's value.

James Jones WR-PACKERS: If you are in a deep league, take a shot at the 2% owned Jones. WR Jordy Nelson is out for the next 3 weeks, which makes Jones the Packers #3 for the time being. He's had TD's the past 2 weeks, and look for that to continue with Nelson out and Jennings underperforming.

Sam Aiken WR- PATRIOTS: He had 2 catches for 66 yards and a TD. Julian Edelman is injured, and Joey Galloway was released, which makes the 2% owned Aiken a good add in deep leagues.

Jamaal Charles RB-CHIEFS: He's on a bye this week, but its just a matter of time till the 1-6 Chiefs give him the starters job with Larry Johnson stinking it up to the tune of 2.7 yards per carry. They need an offensive spark, and need to see if Charles can be relied upon for next season.

Arizona Cardinals defense: This defense is atrocious against the pass, but very good against the run...which makes this week's matchup PERFECT! as the Panthers only viable offensive threats is their running back tandem of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, who may have a hard time establishing a running game. If you need a plug n play defense this week, try the Cards.

  1. Celek or Davis for TE in week 8?

  2. I'd start Davis.
Celek has a tough matchup against the Giants.
Davis caught 3 TD's last week from new QB Alex Smith, and looks like he has chemistry with him. With the game against the Colts, the 49ers will have to throw alot to keep up with them, so I think he has another good game.

  3. Folk or Crosby? Thanks for the help!

  4. I think Folk is a safer choice. He's kicking in a dome, and the Cowboys offense looks re-energized with the emergence of Miles Austin. It will likely rain in Green Bay the whole weekend, which isn't conducive to kicking [as a former punter, I can attest to that].

I think you have to go with Edwards. Lat time he faced the Dolphins he had 64 yards and a TD, and I think he has a similar line this week.
Crabtree is going up against a tough secondary [bolstered by the return of Bob Sanders]

I think you go with Nicks...who's had TD's in 4 straight games. Both are going up against a tough secondary, but I think Nicks has more upside.

  9. THX for advice on EDWARDS - need advice on defense - PHILLY has been my bread winner all year (except oakland) but i have DALLAS sitting on the bench in case.....what do you think?

Plan c... Do you have the Chargers in the Free agent pool?
I don't really like the Philly matchup. They looked really sluggish against the Redskins last week, and haven't faced a real good offense since week 2...and they allowed 48 points in that game.
I think the Cowboys will have a better game against the Seahawks, who are having O-line trouble, and don't really have a stud RB.

  11. I think Warner will have a better game. Carolina's defense is a bit overrated, and I think Warner has a good game. Have in mind that Carolina allowed 87 combined points to Philadelphia, Atlanta and Dallas, with only 2 interceptions in weeks 1-3, so they haven't fared well against quality opponents...
