THE ULTIMATE ADVICE FOR THE ULTIMATE LINEUP

Week 5 is upon us, and with that, bye weeks for the Saints, Packers, Bears and the Chargers. Here are a few must adds for weeks 5:

Rashard Mendenhall Rb-Steelers: A week after getting no carries, the kid explodes for 191 total yards and 2 TD's. Look for the same this week , as Pittsburgh faces a very porous Detroit defense. Willie parker has turf toe, and it is ulikely the Steelers will rush him back, especially not against the Lions.

Glen Coffee Rb-49ers: With Frank Gore out for another week (and likely out for the next few weeks), this guy is a must start , as the 49ers will look to pound the ball against the falcons this week. He could also have a HUGE game against the atrocious Texans defense in week 7.

David Garrard Qb- Jaguars: After throwing for 323 yards with 3 TD's against the Titans, Garrard goes against the hapless Seattle Seahawks. He should get over 280 yards with 2 TD's.

Mike Sims-Walker Wr - Jaguars: Garrard's new toy should get plenty of looks this week, and in coming weeks, He is a must-add in all formats.

Pierre Garcon Wr - Colts: Marvin who? With Reggie Wayne getting double coverage, look for this speedster to get alot of points on the bumbling Titans secondary (yes, the same secondary that allowed Garrard to throw for 323 yards). Manning has created a rapport with this kid, and he should be added in all leagues .

Sidney Rice Wr- Vikings: A week after Favre single handedly dismantled the Packers, the Vikings get... St Louis. The Rams are on a 14 game losing streak, and should be CRUSHED in this one .

The "Hail Mary's"

Are you in a canyon-deep league? Here are some of this week's "Hail Mary's",

Chester Taylor Rb - Vikings: This game will pretty much be over by halftime, so Taylor may get some second half carries/receptions. The Vikes may look to limit Adrian Peterson's load this week, so he could get you a solid day in a rb3 or flex position.

Jerome Harrison Rb - Browns : Yep , thats right...im listing a Brown.. As Jamal Lewis is still recovering from his injury, Harrison could get a lot of touches, especially since ..well every other player on offense sucks.

LeSean McCoy Rb- Eagles : Westbrook is coming back this week, but the Eagles should have no trouble against the Bucs, so he may have some late game touches.

Percy Harvin Wr - Vikings : May get a few long balls from the ageless wonder (did I mention they're playing the Rams?)

Patrick Crayton Wr - Cowboys : A nice matchup against the Chiefs...could this be the game?

Lee Evans Wr - Bills: With T.O dropping everything in his path, The Bills may look for Evans deep.

Ok, that's it for today , drop by on Thursday when I'll discuss the "must starts" and the "must sits" for week 5

  1. Who do I start this week? Gerard or Derrick Anderson? Thanks.

  2. As you can see above, Garrard should have another good game against the Seahawks, couple that with the fact that the Browns just traded Edwards to the Jets, and its clear on whom to start.
