TRADE 'EM

I would like to debut a new column about players whom you should be trading. These are player's who may have big name recognition, but no game performance, so trade them while they're still worth something. The following is a short list, but feel free to comment if you have any specific players.

Brandon Jacobs RB-GIANTS: He hasn't looked right all year, and I doubt he will regain his past form. Ahmad Bradshaw is starting to get more carries, plus he's a better receiver. It's clear that the Giants cannot rely on Jacobs anymore, and I think they will start to limit him. He has faced some soft run defense's and done nothing, so trade him while he still has value. [added incentive? he faces the Cards this week, who are excellent against the run]

Steve Smith WR-PANTHERS: The "original" Steve Smith has looked anything but. It's not that he slowed down or is injury prone, it's that he has Jake Delhomme throwing to him. Even against soft secondaries, Delhomme hasn't been able to deliver to Smith, and even if they put Matt Moore in, I don't think he will improve. The Panther's will likely start to do what got them to 12-4 last year...and that's RUN! I think DeAngelo Williams has a better second half, as the Panthers will start to rely on him and Jonathan Stewart.

Thomas Jones RB- JETS: He's had a few nice games...but he cant be relied upon. He averages about 15 carries a game, and even that might soon be dwindling with Leon Washington and Shonn Greene in the mix. I think now is a GREAT time to trade him after his 210 yard game padded his stats abit, so you might be able to find someone to take him off your hands.

Reggie Bush RB- SAINTS: Averaging about 10 carries and 7 points a game, It's becoming increasingly clear Bush will never be the back everyone envisioned he would be. He's been used sparingly, and with the Saints having so many weapons on offense, I don't see a turnaround anytime soon.

Terrell Owens WR- BILLS: The Bills have a mess at Qb, and an even bigger mess with T.O .
Owens has been below average all year, with no sign of a turnaround, it's time to realize he will never again be the T.O of old...just an OLD T.O

Tony Romo QB- COWBOYS: He has been very inconsistent all year, and the Cowboys do have some tough opponents in the future. They don't have the wide receiver depth they thought they had, with Patrick Crayton and Roy Williams both being dissapointments. I think he will be feast or famine the whole year, so if you can get a good trade for him, I'd take it.

Clinton Portis RB- REDSKINS: Another one of the "on the downside of his career" running backs that you should avoid. He hasn't been able to take advantage of good matchups, and with the Redskins having Qb trouble, it can only get worse, as teams will target him more.

Have any other players in mind? feel free to comment...
